Mid-Century Sound started as a hobby in the UK 9 years ago when my wife sent me a photo of a vintage stereo console and asked if I had an idea what this cool antique was? It looked vaguely familiar and after some research, it was identified as a Blaupunkt "Arkansas" Radiogram (as they are called in the UK) and it was the exact same model that we used to listen to in my parent's lounge!
Although I was thousands of miles away in the US, we bought it and Numero Uno is still with us today playing away in our living room. Since then I have restored and sold 350 plus consoles and although I have always had an electronics background while working in the film industry, hunting down consoles for restoration and diagnosing and repairing them is now my passion.

The console is truly amazing and continues to exceed my expectations. Everything was as described and beyond. In addition to the unit and speakers themselves being in incredible shape, Steve's refurbishment of both electronics and cabinetry were top notch. The sound is period-specific…crisp highs, realistic mids and warm bass. As I’ve referred to friends about it, ‘a silky-smooth sounding time capsule’. Steve was great to deal with, friendly, helpful, and patient. Went above and beyond to ensure the transaction and delivery were exceptionally smooth. Highly recommend the shop and the owner!
